Yuma Educators Summit 2020 relocating to Kofa High School.

Moving from Arizona Western College to Kofa High School is part of a long term partnership plan.
The Yuma Educators Summit event will be held on June 25-26, 2020, at Kofa High School, 3100 S. Avenue A. The Summit was previously planned for Arizona Western College, but organizers decided to emphasize their focus on k-12 education by using a facility in the Yuma Union High School District.
“AWC is a great space and they have been super welcoming, but ultimately we at all about professional development for teachers in elementary and secondary schools,” said Josh Cecil, Y.E.S. president. “Every step of the way, leaders from the high school district have been on board with planning and finding ways to get involved. It only makes sense for the Summit to take place at Kofa.”
2020 will be the first year of the Yuma Educators Summit. This two-day event will feature keynote speakers from across the country, as well as panels and breakout sessions on topics relating to the theme of “Equity and Access in Education.” Community businesses and foundations have provided significant financial sponsorship, enabling Summit guests to pay just $25. A student rate is also available. Registration and more information is available at http://yesyuma.org

Session proposals are being accepted until April 1, on topics related to equity, access, and engagement. FAQ and instructions are available at http://yesyuma.org/session-proposals.
