Tell Senate President Karen Fann to Move HB 2125 Forward

Last year’s federal budget increased funding to the Child Care Development Block Grant. Arizona’s share was $56 million, but the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) could not spend those dollars because the state’s budget did not include an expenditure authority to do so.

In January, a bill was introduced to give DES access to those funds in the current fiscal year, but the bill has stalled and may be held up indefinitely while the legislature and Governor continue debates over the FY20 state budget.

This bill does NOT cost the state anything. It will immediately provide an enormous benefit to Arizona children and families, especially low-income families, as well as the Arizona small businesses and organizations that support these families.

Email Senate President Karen Fann (R – District 1) and your Senator today and tell them to move HB 2125 forward and stop using Arizona’s children as a bargaining chip.
