At AEP, we are committed to assisting educators in creating powerful learning environments, through humanizing pedagogy and rigorous curriculum, which will inspire every student to thrive. Our collaborative and community based methods have been successful in transforming student and teacher relationships, as well as increasing positive academic outcomes for students of color and other marginalized youth.
At the core of an integrated design firm are collaborative, interdisciplinary teams composed of all project lifecycle stakeholders. These teams champion true collaboration, open information sharing, shared risk and reward, value-based decision making, and proficient use of technology to elevate design. The outcome is sustainable design of a high performance building for a sustainable future.
Word of our success spread, and we kept getting requests to share the best practices and technology we developed with other school systems. We heard the call, and in early 2013, Schoolzilla spun out of Aspire to become an independent, mission-driven organization. Since then, we’ve helped thousands of teachers, leaders and data analysts in more than 100 districts and charter management organizations across more than 30 states save time, gain critical insight and leverage all their data to drive action and change students’ lives.
We know your students depend on you every day, and we’re committed to being a part of your success. Please get in touch to learn more – and thanks for all you do.
Upon reaching retirement eligibility, Sandee McClelland (President) realized she could no longer afford to stay working as an Administrator in the Tempe Elementary School District, as her retirement was almost equal to her salary. Since there wasn’t a vehicle in place for the District to retain her, she had to explore her options in the private sector. Simultaneously, Sandee recognized the need for public and private sectors to implement Phased Retirement Programs and realized legislation was in place in Arizona to support such a practice. After collaborating with the Arizona State Retirement System, the Arizona Education Association, Legislators and researching data regarding the looming teacher/workforce shortage, the smartschoolsplus Phased Retirement Program was born!
