We have all heard “it’s a marathon, not a sprint.” But what happens when the marathon is also a sprint? For the gigantic work our educators are tackling right now, overwhelming has become almost cliché. On any given day, there is so much to do it is hard to know where to start. So consider this seemingly useless, but potentially powerful advice: start by getting started. Overwhelmed to the point of paralysis? Solve the problem that is right in front of you. Tackle the no-brainer task first (especially when you feel like you have no brain power left).

Part of practicing this “grace” thing everyone keeps talking about requires us to understand how the little bits of work we do each day move the ball forward. Start by getting started to catch your breath as you sprint this marathon.

Keep up the great work!

– Colin
