ASA Member Resources

Posted Date: 08/21/2022

Greetings ASA members.  Here are some resources that may be of interest to you.

First, in partnership with the Donovan Group, a set of Monkeypox school communication templates have been uploaded into the member resource area.  You can download the Word docs and edit for your personalized messages.  Four templates have been uploaded: a family and a staff message for the start of the year (regarding Monkeypox) and a family and a staff message for a confirmed case in school.  To access these, log into our website (www.azsa.org), go to the Resources drop-down, select File Archive, and go into the Monkeypox Letter Template folder.  Please give us a call if you have trouble logging in (602-252-0361).

Next, please see the information below about the Arizona Student Opportunity Collaborative (AzSOC), which provides free 7-12 courses to AZ students, with dual enrollment options through Prescott College.

The Arizona Student Opportunity Collaborative is beginning its fall classes.

The Arizona Student Opportunity Collaborative (AzSOC) is a grant-funded organization (e.g. HELIOS, ESSER, Thoma Foundation) designed to provide online classes to schools throughout Arizona, especially rural Arizona, where teachers or courses may be unavailable.

Sometimes schools need multiple classes; other times schools have a few students who need specific classes.  We are very flexible and will do what we can to adjust to your needs.   All secondary classes (7-12) are free of charge, and dual-enrollment offerings through Prescott College are at a reduced rate for students.  If you only need the curriculum for one of our classes, we can provide that at no charge, as well.

Courses are taught asynchronously by highly qualified AZ instructors with Zoom access available for face-to-face support.  We recommend in most cases you provide onsite adult supervision for day-to-day classroom management and support.  Please extend to all-star teachers an invitation to participate

EASY ENROLLMENT: To enroll students, simply email the course you need, student name and student email to brian.taylor@azsoc.org

2022-2023 COURSE OFFERINGS: Below is the list of classes that AzSOC is offering this year.  If you need a class that is not offered below, let us know and we may be able to create one for you.  We are expanding our CTE course list.  Again, schools keep all their Perkins and Priority funding.  We are gap-fillers and want to be of help.

If you have specific questions, please don't hesitate to text or call either one of us. We are also looking for top-shelf dual-enrollment, high school, and junior high teachers whom you might recommend to help write curriculum and/or teach.  Our goal is to create the largest teacher-share network through Arizona.  We are stronger when we help each other.
