Please see the information below about several opportunities to nominate colleagues for awards:

ASA State Superintendent of the Year
The AASA National Superintendent of the Year Program pays tribute to the talent and vision of the men and women who lead our nation's public schools. Each year, ASA selects a State Superintendent of the Year who then is eligible for nomination to the National Superintendent of the Year Program. This recognition is designed to recognize the outstanding leadership of active, front-line superintendents who plan to continue in the profession.  Nominations are due by September 15th.  Nominate A Superintendent

All Arizona Superintendent Award
At the ASA/ASBA Winter Conference, awards will be given to three outstanding superintendents. The awards will be made to selected superintendents representing small, medium and large size districts. The district size category is as follows:
    Small: 1000 or fewer     Medium: 1001 to 5000     Large: 5001 and up 
Nominations are due by October 15th.  Nominate A Superintendent



Cognia Excellence in Education Award Nomination Information Deadline: September 9th!
Arizona is proud to offer the Excellence in Education Award. The state-level award is presented in each state to one individual who has demonstrated unparalleled leadership in promoting and advancing excellence in education. Nominees may be teachers, administrators, board of education members, or community representatives. Many individuals are making outstanding contributions to our young people and should have the opportunity to be recognized. 

Criteria include a nominee’s success in the following areas: 

• Generates a common vision and mission for higher expectations among students, faculty, and the education community. 
• Demonstrates a record of significant and distinguished contributions to the education profession. 
• Provides a lasting positive impact on student learning. 
• Serves as a role model and mentor for students and/or future generations of educators. 
• Demonstrates significant professional contribution to NCA CASI, NWAC, or SACS CASI. The Excellence in Education Award is a wonderful way to recognize a person who has demonstrated leadership and/or service in the field of education in Arizona, in service to the Cognia vision, mission, and values.

The recipient will be recognized at the ASA Fall Leadership Conference in Tucson on October 31, 2022. Please send completed nomination forms to Dr. Krista Anderson at krista.anderson@cognia.org.
