Grant Opportunity; 1,000,000 for 9th Grade Success

Posted Date: 11/21/2024

The AZ Department of Education just announced $1 million in funding to support 9th Grade Success through grants for local Arizona schools.

Grants will be awarded to approximately 20 schools across the state. Each applicant may request up to $50,000 per school to be used by the end of the 2024-2025 school year. Applications are due December 1.

Research shows that ninth graders who end the year on-track are four times more likely to graduate. The Center for High School Success (CHSS) is currently working with 174 high schools across eleven states and has increased On-Track Rates by 32% across partner schools— along with reducing chronic absenteeism, improving student behavior, boosting teacher retention, and strengthening CTE and dual credit pathways.

This funding would make a huge difference for students and school communities, so we encourage school administrators to apply by December 1! If you would like support in completing your application, you can email me for a time to meet.
