Essential Functions
- Collaborates with internal and external personnel (e.g. other administrators, the superintendent, auditors, public agencies, community members, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and/or maintaining services and programs.
- Compiles data from a wide variety of sources (e.g. staff, public agencies, transportation records, etc.) for the purpose of analyzing issues, ensuring compliance with organization policies and procedures, and/or monitoring program components.
- Coordinates a variety of programs and personnel (e.g. district special event transportation needs, regular transportation requirements, etc.) for the purpose of delivering services which conform to established guidelines of the district as well as state and federal regulatory agencies, and community agencies in a timely manner.
- Directs department operations (e.g. staffing, the implementation of new transportation events, etc.) for the purpose of providing services within established timeframes and in compliance with related requirements.
- Facilitates meetings, workshops, seminars, etc. (e.g. safety regulations updates, upcoming event schedules, etc.) for the purpose of identifying issues, developing recommendations, supporting other staff, and serving as a District representative.
- Implements programs, projects, or transportation for a wide variety of events (e.g. district events not part of a regular schedule, new safety procedures, etc.) for the purpose of conforming to district or regulatory requirements.
- Manages the transportation department (e.g. busing assignments, compliance oversight, etc.) for the purpose of delivering services which conform to established guidelines.
- Participates in a wide variety of meetings (e.g. staff meetings, administrative team meetings, workshops, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Performs personnel functions (e.g. interviewing, evaluating, supervising, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing, enhancing productivity of personnel and achieving objectives within budget.
- Prepares a wide variety of often complex materials (e.g. special event transportation logistics, regulatory safety requirements, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and issues, meeting compliance requirements, providing audit references, making presentations, and/or providing supporting materials for requested actions.
- Presents a variety of information within the district (e.g. general information of the department, safeguards, specific transportation requirements, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information, managing feedback and ensuring adherence to established internal controls.
- Researches a variety of topics required to manage assignments (e.g. relevant policies, staffing requirements, equipment updates, etc.) for the purpose of developing new programs/services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, securing general information and/or responding to requests.
- Responds to a wide variety of issues (e.g. staffing shortages, conflicts between actions needed and policies and/or regulations, transportation requests that may result in some negative impact and/or liability if not appropriately addressed, etc.) for the purpose of identifying the relevant issues and recommending or implementing a plan of action that will efficiently resolve the issue.
Experience: Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
Certificates and Licenses: Valid Driver’s License & Evidence of Insurability, Bus Driver’s Certificate, Bus Driver's Trainer Certification preferred.
Clearances: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance, IVP (Identity Verified Print) Fingerprint Clearance Card
Salary: Grade XI - $$81,638
260 Days Position.
